FATMA

A documentary portrait of a village and its old school near the Iraq-Iran border. The film delves into the challenges faced by a small community of just over 100 residents. With no access to electricity, gas, water, or proper roads, the villagers rely on primitive farming methods to sustain themselves, lacking any government agricultural assistance.
I played a pivotal role in empowering the villagers to share their narrative by providing training in film production to a select group over two months. With my guidance, they successfully completed filming the project within six months. This initiative served as a platform for the villagers to gain firsthand experience in both performing in front of the camera and working behind the scenes.
