The Content

The focus of the workshops will be to conquer your fears and to hone your skills in street photography. With me, you tackle the Paralysis by Analysis to avoid any kind of hesitation and fear of failure. The aim will be on practical strategies and techniques to approach street photography with ease. You will learn how to confidently capture moments that catch your eye, approach strangers for captivating portraits. and effectively engage with them. I will also provide guidance on how to navigate potential rejection, ensuring that you can embrace any situation that arises. I guarantee you that after this workshop, you’ll be much more courageous and confident than you were before. I will push you very far outside of your comfort zone, and also note that this is my specialty in photography and life experience.

Workshop Summary

We Focus On

- Practical strategies on how to conquer paralysis by analysis. How to turn off your brain before shooting a photo.

- How to switch fear into enthusiasm. Redefining fear in a productive way.

- How to tell your mind to get instruction from you to be creative and conquer the anxiety you have in photography. 

- How to approach to engage a stranger to make a portrait of them, and if they say yes, how to direct and guide them.

- How to deal with social awkwardness, practical lines and phrases to give you more confidence.

- Practical and philosophical thoughts on the Ethics of Street Photography.

- Learning some camera features, making an exposure, lighting techniques and composition.

- You will receive image critique, certificate of achievement and photographic documentation of the course.

​I welcome all levels of photographers, from "never picked up a camera", smartphone users to pro level. You will grow your skills no matter what level you start out on. With my guidance, you will reach your personal goals and have countless opportunities to create fantastic photos.​ The days will consist of a lot of physical activities as we may be on our feet for long hours. It will be completely worth it, of course, when we reach our destinations and get those incredible shots!

If you're unsure of what to bring, don't worry! I will provide a recommended Packing List for Belongings & Equipment in different weather and season circumstance.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok

- Morning: Arrive in Bangkok, check-in at the hotel.

- Afternoon: Orientation session - Overview of workshop, goals, and strategies to conquer paralysis by analysis.

- Evening: Group Dinner - Introduction to Bangkok's street photography scene.

 

Day 2: Street Photography Basics

​

- Morning: Workshop on camera features, exposure settings, and lighting techniques.

- Afternoon: Street photography practice in areas like Khao San Road and Chinatown.

- Evening: Group critique session - Discuss images taken, collective feedback.

 

Day 3: Redefining Fear and Creative Mindset

- Morning: Workshop on switching fear into enthusiasm and conquering creative anxiety.

- Afternoon: Individual shooting session; focus on candid moments and spontaneity.

- Evening: Reflection session - Share experiences and personal breakthroughs.

 

Day 4: Exploring Bangkok's Hidden Gems

​

- Morning: Group visit to lesser-known markets and neighbourhoods for street portraits.

- Afternoon: In-field feedback from instructors on techniques and engagement strategies.

- Evening: Image critique and discussion on composition and storytelling.

Day 5: Travel to Krabi

​

- Morning: Depart for Krabi; check-in at accommodation.

- Afternoon: Scenic photography session - Capture the essence of Krabi's landscapes.

- Evening: Workshop on composing landscape photographs; tips on integrating people into scenes.

Day 6: Engaging with Strangers in James Bond Island

​

- Morning: On the boat, lecture on how to approach and engage strangers for portraits.

- Afternoon: Practical exercise - Participants engage with locals, shoot portraits, and guide them.

- Evening: On the boat, group discussion on ethical considerations in street photography.

 

Day 7: Street Photography by the Beach

​

- Morning: Early morning beach shoot focusing on locals and tourists.

- Afternoon: Workshop on using light effectively; explore lighting techniques at different times of day.

- Evening: Group critique - Showcase beach photography, discussing environmental portraiture.

 

Day 8: Travel to Phuket

​

- Morning: Depart for Phuket; check-in at accommodation.

- Afternoon: Street photography session in Old Phuket Town and local markets.

- Evening: Workshop on integrating personal stories into photography.

 

Day 9: Final Practice and Image Review in Phi Phi Island 

​

- Morning: Final street photography exercise, focusing on comfort and instinct in shooting.

- Afternoon: Individual image review sessions with instructors - Discuss growth and style development.

- Evening: Farewell dinner - Celebrate accomplishments, distribute certificates of achievement.

 

Day 10: Departure

​

- Morning: Final reflections and sharing personal highlights from the workshop.

- Afternoon: Depart from Phuket, taking memories and skills learned into the future.

 

Additional Notes:

- Each day will include practical exercises directly linked to the session's theme.

- Participants are encouraged to maintain a journal for notes and reflections.

- A dedicated online group will be created for ongoing support and sharing of images post-workshop.
